Arison Sanders' journey back to football

Updated: Dec 12, 2019

With the Slippery Rock University football team flying high at 12-0, it may seem like the members of that team have everything going their way.

But most only see what goes on the football field every Saturday and not what these players may go through on a daily basis outside of football. Take redshirt sophomore linebacker Arison Sanders (#41) for example. Sanders came to Slippery Rock on an athletic scholarship to play football, but soon found his football career in jeopardy, as he was diagnosed with blood clots.

Going through the devastating news of being diagnosed with a blood clot in his freshman year (2017) as well as earlier this year, Sanders has fought back to rejoin the team and was called upon to play in his first game back against Indiana (Pa.).

For the web biography, I will take an in-depth look at Sanders life before Slippery Rock, his love for football and his battle with blood clots.
