No time to siesta, it's time to fiesta!

The Hispanic/Latino Cultures Planning Committee and the Student Organization of Latinos, Hispanics and Allies (SOL) hosted its annual Hispanic Fiesta night Wednesday evening in the Smith Student Center ballroom. Open to all SRU students, the event offered a live band, food, a salsa lesson for beginners, and even a photo booth.

SOL President Ignacio Cisneros gives a warm welcome to all who attended Wednesday's Hispanic Fiesta Night and explains what the event has in store.

The SRU dance team was dressed in traditional Hispanic clothing as they opened up the night, performing a traditional Venezuelan dance.

A Pittsburgh-based band, Gavas Beat plays a fusion of Latin rhythms and cultures, composed by young musicians with various musical backgrounds from different countries in Latin America including Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela.

As Gavas Beat continues to jam out, SRU students and faculty alike take the time to put their salsa skills to the test.

A professor in the Dance department, Dr. Jesse Factor explains what it means to him to play such a large role in Hispanic Fiesta Night.
